Rest Day

Mark 2:27 The Sabbath was made for the good of people. 

God isn’t mad at us if we don’t rest but He created the Sabbath because He knew we would function best when we also rested. 

Maybe your career has you working Sundays or even full weekends but I hope you are able to find rest somewhere in your week.

Taking pleasure in the Sabbath reminded me of accepting the gift of Salvation. God isn’t enforcing it, it’s simply a gift He created for His children out of love for them and all we need to do is enjoy and rest knowing God will take care of what we can’t and that even in rest He is preparing us for the work we were designed to do.

Doing my best to honour and enjoy the Sabbath has been one of the most challenging things about my walk with God over the last 5 years. I am bombarded with messages from our world telling me the way to success is paved with sleepless nights and working the hardest. The way to the top is the hustle. I LOVE my work and I believe we were created to work and God can do amazing things through us when we work well but I know I was also created to rest and in that rest I receive so many gifts that propel me into a new week. 

I hope this week is filled with purposeful rest and work!
