I am 36 weeks pregnant and have been working out through my pregnancy with Beach Body Pre & Post Natal Barre Blend and I wanted to share how it has positively impacted my maternity journey.
Please note, I am not a fitness trainer or athlete and this is my third pregnancy but its the first one I have worked out through. If you think you need to be an athlete to take part in Beach Body or sign up as a Coach, you are mistaken.
I was already a huge fan of Beach Body Barre Blend which you can read about here when I got pregnant. I had completed that program prior to getting pregnant. I love the trainer Elise, she is so inspirational and knowledgable about our bodies, moving with her and listening to her during pregnancy expanded my mind on what my body is capable of during pregnancy.
The program is divided into 1st Trimester, 2nd Trimester, 3rd Trimester and Post Natal workouts. There are a handful of workouts in each section and they are designed to be completed over and over through each trimester. Throughout the workouts there is a focus on strengthening areas of our changing bodies that need focus like our back and core as our midsection changes. ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) are also a focus, showcasing movements that we will be making everyday once our babies arrive.
Learning these movements and understanding the areas of my body that need strength focus, has made me mindful through my whole pregnancy about moving with intention when I pick up toys, clean and go for walks.
As I mentioned already, the trainer Elise is really wonderful for encouraging me as I move, being proud of showing up and caring for my changing body and sharing inspirational thoughts that have also fed my spirit in a time when I sometimes didn’t feel completely like myself in my own skin.
I know that moving each day has contributed to my energy levels remaining pretty regular through pregnancy.
Enduring a pandemic while pregnant and learning to homeschool my other two young children has been mentally challenging for me. I know working out 5 days a week and spending time on personal development before I jump into my other roles has helped maintain a more positive mindset.
Within the Beach Body community I have created some wonderful and fruitful relationships that I am so grateful for. The online community I am creating has helped me to be accountable and show up imperfectly each day to do my best. Becoming a Beach Body Coach during this season has created discipline within me and also reenforced that we all want to be connected with other people just trying to do their best. Working hard and showing up in the imperfection of everyday life.
The culture for Beach Body Coaches specifically has a large focus on personal development and I will be so honest with you guys, I didn’t think I needed it. I have spent time studying the Bible for years and always feel conviction and growth through my Bible study and thought that was enough. God is definitely first in all of my personal development but there was and is so much more I need to work through. In regards to even working out through pregnancy, I had so many limiting thoughts about what my body could do, during this season of my life. Working through those thoughts, showing up one day at a time and tapping into personal development resources has helped me grow so much, physically, mentally and emotionally, and I know this is just the beginning of the journey.
I understand every pregnancy is different so you should definitely consult your doctor before you jump into anything new. If you have been given the green light from your physician to workout during pregnancy I would highly recommend Beach Body Pre/Post Natal Barre Blend, not just for your body but also for your mind.
My ultimate goal with moving through my pregnancy is a healthy baby, strong labour and faster recovery than previous and I will be sure to update you guys in a few weeks after my birth experience.
