Tips For A Successful Sunday Family Dinner
We are finishing up our kitchen/dining room renovation, there are still some finishing touches to be made but who are we kidding, there will always be something to do when maintaining a home. We have fully moved into our kitchen and I am back to cooking and last night I had the pleasure of hosting Sunday family dinner. Sunday dinner is one of my favourite weekly traditions and I am happy to be the host. It just feels like the perfect way to end/start a new week, sharing food with your favourite people. Last nights meal was a feast but I don’t think Sunday dinner needs to be fancy. As long as you are with your favourite people and enjoying a meal, you have the basics for filling up your heart tank. This all being said, I try to keep a few things in mind when hosting Sunday family dinner.
My home does not need to be perfectly clean to host my family. Life is full and spending time with loved ones is more important than stressing over a clean house.
It’s never too late in the day to invite someone over for dinner. It is such a treat for me to go to a family members home for dinner, such a blessing with the company and food, anyone else would love to also receive that blessing.
There is always enough food for whoever shows up. I always think about how Jesus multiplied the fish and bread to feed the 5000, I truly believe for these kinds of miracles in my home. If He can feed 5000 surely He can ensure my meals feed whoever stops by so I can bless those people too.
Kitchens are supposed to get messed up, dishes are supposed to get dirty, it is all a blessing!
Please share your tips for a successful Sunday family dinner in the comments below so we can all keep making amazing memories with our loved ones.
