Not Yet

Have you ever prayed for something and felt like God was not listening? Have you ever wondered why He did not just give you what you prayed for? Have you ever watched others receive blessings wondering when yours were going to arrive?

I have wondered all of these things? I have prayed all of these things.

This morning as I read

Psalms 37 23-24“The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭37‬:‭23‬-‭24‬ ‭NIV‬‬

I wondered if the Lord doesn’t just give me what I have asked for because He is allowing something to develop in me?

It’s the “NOT YET” response.

That response is really hard for me to hear becoming I am so impatient.

I am learning to recognize and love the daily work though, as I focus on progress and how much I actually need God to do what He is calling me to do.

If He just gave me what I asked for, there wouldn’t be anything gained. There would be no growth, no daily reliance on Him, no development, I wouldn’t be responsible enough to handle what I am asking for had I not walked the road I am walking.

Today I want to praise God for the “not yet” responses to prayer, that He is strong enough to stand firm with me through the growth and that He is faithful to see me through the process.

He is always faithful!

And for everyone getting the “not yet” keep going, you may stumble but you will not fall.
