The School Of Life

A few weeks ago someone said to me off the cuff “you have it all going on, your a mom and an entrepreneur and a wife” and I was like “wow, slow down”. This person had only been a part of my online community for a little while and so I fear they were getting the wrong picture of my life and maybe thats my fault. Maybe I share a lot about work passion right now and not enough about family time. Since the summer I have pulled back a little on how much I share the kids, I also have been compartmentalizing my time a little more. When I have childcare I try to get as much work done as possible and when I am in homemaker mode, I try to put my phone away a little more and so what I currently share may be a bit heavier on the work side. A few years ago, as I started to explore my influencer profession, so much of what I shared was motherhood and its just in the last 6-8 months that I have started to have childcare for Elizabeth two days a week, so I can work a little more on my entrepreneurial career.

The beauty of an entrepreneurial adventure in the digital space is that my content can evolve with me wherever I am at in my life.

Two weeks ago I also had the opportunity to speak to a group of 17 year old women, exploring their career options as they consider their post secondary education. I was happy with my presentation but I filmed it because I wanted to work on refining my story, my YouTube channel is a great place for me to practice. I also wanted my message to reach more people. I have no post secondary education, I have been blessed with career opportunities and employers that taught me so much and my past experiences have served me in my current adventures. I go to the school of life, each phase and task, from the mundane to the miraculous has the opportunity to prepare me and teach me something, if I am open to receive the lesson. So in the video below, I trace through my career path, the good and the bad and how my journey thus far serves me today.

I would love if you shared something about your career path that has served you well in your current season, maybe a success or failure.

xoxo
