Placote Games Review
The kids and I have been playing some games from Placote over the last few weeks. We are finding our way in our homeschool journey, I am learning that while book work is important, Luke and Lizzy learn best while they play. One reason we decided to homeschool was so that we could focus on developing core values in Luke and Lizzy as they learn each day at home. Placote games make it fun for us to learn social skills, emotions and communication. These games have opened up some great dialogue and I have even referenced them in everyday situations to jog the kids memory on how to handle certain things.
Mission Emotions
Helps us to recognize different emotions by examining pictures of children in different scenarios.
Monster School
This one is our favourite! It helps us to identify what behaviours are positive or negative. I have referenced the images from this game when the kids face their own challenging emotions in real life situations so they can work on handling things positively.
The Case Of The Missing Carrots
This game helps children develop their understand of ‘why’ questions, while they work to crack the case of the missing carrots.
I love board games because they bring us all together in an engaging way. Placote games take it a step further and help us develop skills we need to communicate better and contribute to our communities positively. These games would be a great gift for the littles in your life this Christmas.
