How To Take A Selfie
I take a lot of selfies! Over the last three years of sharing makeup and style looks, I have learned a few tricks for taking a good selfie. Here are some things to consider when trying to capture your best self.
Lighting
I take all of my selfies in front of a window, looking out the window. Different windows in my home are better for certain times of day as the sun moves. Walk around your house to different windows and see how much a difference the light makes in capturing your smile. I find the best spots in my home for taking selfies are the front and side doorways where the walls are painted light grey, these spots act almost like light boxes reflecting light all around me.
Top
The top I am wearing really contributes to the overall picture. Even though its a tiny slice of fabric that is showing, it frames my face and can even cast colour onto my face. Try on different tops to compliment your look and notice how the look transforms. I will often throw on a specific coloured top with my pyjama bottoms to capture a makeup look beautifully then change into something else for the rest of the day.
Move
Take a ton of pictures, with different smiles and incorporate your hand around your face too, like tucking your hair behind your ears. Depending on the look you are trying to show off, different facial expressions may be required. For example, winged eye liner is hard to capture with a big smile.
Personality
Photos are supposed to be fun and show your personality so don't be afraid to try something different and take billion pictures.
